Privacy Policy
Last updated: 23 June 2026
In plain words: We don't ask for your name, email, or an account, and the player names you type stay on your device. Gameplay works offline. When the app starts it makes two small background connections — one to check for an app update (Expo) and one to confirm your subscription status (RevenueCat) — and this website is served as plain static pages by our host. None of this profiles you. The full details are below.
Christian Truth or Dare (the "App") respects your privacy. This policy covers both the App and this website (christiantruthordare.app). We do not collect your name, email, or any account information, and the player names you type stay on your device. The limited data that is processed — described section by section below — is mostly your IP address handled by our service providers to deliver updates, confirm subscriptions, and serve web pages. This policy is written to comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG), and applicable United States privacy laws.
1. Who is responsible (data controller)
The person responsible for the App is:
Gabriel Beslic
Homburger Landstrasse 455
60433 Frankfurt am Main
Germany
Email: support@christiantruthordare.app
The App is operated by a sole proprietor (Einzelunternehmen); we are not required to appoint a Data Protection Officer. Reach us about any privacy matter at the email above. Full legal details are in our Imprint.
2. What we collect
The App itself collects no personal information. There are no accounts and no sign-up. The player names you enter are stored only on your device (local storage) and are never sent to us or to any server. Gameplay works fully offline. The App does make two small background connections when it starts — to check for updates and to confirm your subscription status — which are explained in section 3.
3. App connections (updates and subscriptions)
When the App launches it contacts two service providers acting on our behalf. Neither receives your name, email, or the player names on your device.
- App updates — Expo (EAS Update). To deliver bug fixes and improvements, the App checks our update server, operated by Expo (Expo, USA), on launch. This processes technical data such as your IP address, platform, and the App's runtime version. See Expo's privacy policy.
- Subscriptions — Apple, Google & RevenueCat. The App is free to play, with an optional Pro subscription that unlocks every deck plus unlimited players and cards. Purchases are handled by Apple (App Store), Google (Google Play), and our subscription provider RevenueCat (RevenueCat, USA). RevenueCat uses a non-identifying, app-generated ID and your receipt data to manage your subscription; the App checks this status on launch. We never receive your name, email, or payment details — those stay with Apple and Google under their own policies. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
4. This website
This website is a set of plain static pages with no cookies, no analytics, and no tracking. The fonts are served from our own domain (we do not use Google Fonts or any third-party CDN), so loading a page sends no data to other companies. The site is hosted on GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc. / Microsoft, USA); like any web host, GitHub automatically processes your IP address and basic request details in server logs to deliver the pages and protect against abuse. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). See GitHub's privacy statement.
5. Analytics and advertising
Neither the App nor this website uses third-party advertising or tracking SDKs, and we do not profile you or sell or share your information. We rely only on RevenueCat's aggregate subscription metrics (revenue and active-subscription counts), which do not identify you.
6. International data transfers
The limited processing above involves providers in the United States — Apple, Google, RevenueCat, Expo, and GitHub (Microsoft). This can involve a transfer of personal data (mainly your IP address) outside the European Economic Area, safeguarded by the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework and/or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses as applicable to each provider.
7. Data retention and deletion
We do not keep any personal database about you. The only data linked to you sits with our providers: server-log entries at our web host and subscription/update records at Apple, Google, RevenueCat, and Expo, each kept for limited periods under their own policies and statutory obligations. Removing the App from your device deletes all locally stored data (player names and settings). To manage or cancel a subscription, use your Apple ID or Google Play account settings.
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, to data portability, to withdraw consent, and to complain to a supervisory authority. Because we hold no account or contact data about you, we usually cannot identify you from the limited technical data our providers process — but you can always reach us at support@christiantruthordare.app. You may complain to your local authority or to ours, Der Hessische Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit. For any purchase data held by Apple, Google, or RevenueCat, contact those providers directly.
9. Your U.S. state privacy rights
Some U.S. states (such as California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, and Texas) give you rights to access, correct, and delete personal information and to opt out of its sale, sharing, or use for targeted advertising. We do not collect, sell, or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of — and we will never discriminate against you for exercising your rights. Questions? Email support@christiantruthordare.app.
10. Children's privacy
The App is suitable for general audiences and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children. There are no accounts and no personal-data collection. If you believe a child has somehow provided personal data through the App, please contact us and we will address it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, note the change in the App. Your continued use of the App after an update means you have read the revised policy.
12. Contact us
For any question about this policy, contact us at support@christiantruthordare.app or visit our Support page. Our legal details are in the Imprint.
